10 Days 9 Nights Lamalera – Lolong Village – Mingar White Sand Beach Adventure Tour

Day 01 :

Bali – Maumere (No Meals)

Transfer to airport and fly to Maumere. Our guide will pick up at the airport and transfer to Silvia Hotel. Check in process and overnight.

Day 02 :

Maumere – Larantuka – Lewoleba – Lamalera (B,L,D)

Early wake up at 03:30 am. Having breakfast. Our driver and guide waiting you at the lobby hotel and drive to Larantuka. Upon arrival, direct to get cruise (wooden boat) to Lewoleba. It will be takes 4 hours cruise. Upon arrive at Lewoleba harbor, our guide will meet and greet the clients and direct to local rest for Lunch at Berkhat Lomblen Rest (Seafood). Then continue drive to Lamalera Whale hunting village. Check in process at home stay, dinner and overnight

Day 03 :

Lamalera – Full Day Explore Whale Hunting (B,L,D)

After having early breakfast, just walk down to the beach and joint with local fisherman for go to hunt the whale. At 5:30 am you have to stand by at sea shore. Short introduccing about hunting process and wearing life jacket. It will start from 06:00 am – 16:00 pm. Lunch will serve on the boat. If you lucky, you will see the whale on the water surfaces and a man (harpooners) will stand in front of the boat, and he jumping for thrust the whale. Local people not allow any tourist to take photo or video shooting as there is an additional price (pay on the spot). If no whale catch on that they, they will hunting sharks, manta, dolphins or others kind of fish, you free to take photo or video shooting. Back to home stay for overnight and dinner.

Day 04 :

Lamalera – Full Day Explore Whale Hunting (B,L,D)

Day 05 :

Lamalera – Lolong Village (B,L,D)

After breakfast. Prepare for drive to Lolong Village passing some Viillage. Start at 08:00 – 10:00 am. You can see some happenings on the way. On driving from Lamalera to Lolong passing by ocean view, traditional Village and see some happening during on the way. Upon arrive at Lolong Village local people will welcoming with Ceremony and traditional dance performance using traditional custom (Sarong). Coffee Break – Lunch & Village Tour.

Take opportunity to see how the local people cook the traditional food. Someone will explain the process to us. We drank coffee, chatted and sampled the local delicacy: “Jagung Titih” or smashed popcorn. The kernels are first cooked over a fire in a clay pot until they pop, then smashed with a flat rock. It doesn’t sound like much, but it tasted surprisingly good. The villagers, especially the village headman, were so friendly that we were reluctant to leave. Check in at guests house.

Day 06 :

Lolong – Village Tour (B,L,D)

After breakfast, you will visit local people daily life. How they cook the traditional food called “PUTU”. It’s made from tapioca and coconut pisses. After that, visit how the local people making the traditional wine. Called “ARAK”. Late of evening local people will perform mass dance. You can joint with them

Day 07 :

Lolong Village – Trekking Program to Custom houses – Mingar Village (B,L,D)

Early wakeup at 5 am, and having breakfast. And then proceed to do trekking passing by some route (climb, decline, winding), all trek in native forest. It will be takes 2 hours to reach the main object is custom house. En route program, visit the bamboo flashes. It was lived many centuries in the era ancestor. The first bamboo they use to make or swipe to earn the fire. This is where the origin of the fire comes from. Rest a few minutes in the area, and continue track. Once arrived, rest and walking this area.

Drink young coconut and taking pictures

This site has 3 (three) pieces that are all custom home building on stilts with different sizes and functions, namely:

  1. Traditional House Una Kedak

Is the place of traditional rituals. The building is walled with a size of approximately 6 x 4m² it has 4 (four) main mast and one (1) entrance. The entire building is made of local materials such as wood, grass, reeds and bamboo. Stored in the custom house several objects of cultural heritage, such as Kremo Kedak (Traditional sarongs), samurai ancestors used as a property line with the Old tribe catfish, spears, machetes, container Wurek (gravel ancestors), and Guje Kela (earthen pot ). It appears all the objects of cultural heritage that is still original and well preserved.

  1. Traditional House Koker (Skull Bone Ancestor)

As a storage Ata Maguja Kore (skull bone ancestor). The house with no walls containers with a size of approximately 4 x 2 m² has 4 main pillars supporting the roof. The entire building is made of local materials such as wood, bamboo and palm leaves. Stored in containers with a very neat 62 (sixty two) ancestral human skull, which has been separated according to gender, with details of 37 (thirty-seven) pieces of the skull of the male and 25 (twenty five) female skulls.

  1. Traditional House Weta (Barn)

Is a place where crops. Walled building with a size of approximately 5 x 3m² it has 4 main poles and one entrance. All the parts are made of local materials such as wood, bamboo and palm leaves. Cultural heritage objects stored in it, among others:

a). The old mats (Osan) of woven palm leaves and measures about 5 x 3m² serves as a place to put the crop at the time of the ritual celebration and then stored into levat (barns). According to informants, this object come from the tribe in the village of Ona Dare Wuakerong subdistrict Nagawutung which at that time used as a dowry reply.

  1. b) A long dimple measuring approximately 5 mx 0.5 m and a piece of alu, which is believed to be the boat and rower ancestors used them to cross from Lewotobi (East Flores) to Lewo Machete.
  2. c) Old Grave made of the composition of natural stone slabs. These tombs belonged to Chief Lewu Machete named Peter Kia Bases Blolok, children of different malika (village head first).
  3. d) three (3) Clumps of bamboo which is said to have existed since the era ancestor. Bamboo is specifically used to construct or repair building custom homes in the old village site Lewu Machete. Uniquely, this bamboo has a very different structure with bamboo in general, because it has a longer segment, natural cleaner, thinner and anti-termite.

                Continues walking to reach Lamalele Custom house. Take some rest and having Lunch here. Afterthat, we walk down to Mingar Village for check in at guests house of Mingar Village. Dinner and overnight.

Day 08 :

Mingar – Village Tour – White Sandy Beach Tour (B,L,D)

Afterbreakfast. Prepare for village tour, walking on the white sand beach, swimming or relax at the beach. Picnic Lunch on the beach. Late afternoon, back to home stay. Dinner and overnight.

Day 09 :

Mingar – Lewoleba – Larantuka – Maumere (B,L)

Afterbreakfast. Prepare for drive back to the city of lewoleba and cruise to Larantuka Start from mingar at 07:00 am. Upon arrive at lewoleba direct to harbor and cruise to Larantuka at 11:30 am. Once arrived, our guide and drive will pick you up and drive to Maumere. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 10 :

Maumere – Bali (B)

Afterbreakfast. Prepare for check out and transfer to the airport for fly back to Bali.
Driver and guide waiting you at the arrival gate and transfer to your hotel for overnight

What clients should bring:

  • Soap, Tooth paste, Towel, Shampoo
  • Walking shoes
  • Good hat
  • Sun cream
  • Flash light
  • Jacket or sweater
  • This is really a picturesque destination, please bring a lot of film.

During hunt the whale in Lamalera, local people not allowed tourist to taking picture or Shooting;
