13 Days Flores – Komodo the Giant Lizard Adventure

Day 01 :

Denpasar – Labuan Bajo – Rinca Island – Komodo Island (L.D)

Pick up from your hotel in Bali and transfer to the airport, for flight to Labuan Bajo (West Flores) for approximately one and half hours. On arrival in Labuan Bajo airport, will be welcomed and met with our local representative or tour guide. Than transfer to the harbour to catch a boat cross to Rinca Island. Lunch will serve on boat. On arrival start you’re trekking, walking to the forest to explore the wild Komodo Dragons and other wild animals (deer, pig, monkey, buffalo, horses and many kind of birds). The A local ranger will lead you to enter this nature preservation. Dinner and overnight on board in Kalong Komodo Island.

Day 02 :

Komodo Island – Pink Beach – Labuan Bajo (B.L.D)

Breakfast on board, cross and short sailing to enter the Komodo National Park. You trekking and see the komodo dragons as you do in Rinca Island. After see dragons in Komodo Island, direct to the board proceed continue the trip to pantai merah (Pink beach). Amongst of colour full tropical fish. Lunch provided on board. Afterwards sail back to Labuan Bajo, on arrival visiting Mirror Cave (Batu Cermin). Dinner and overnight at Golo Hilltop Hotel or similar.

Day 03 :

Labuan Bajo – Ruteng (B.L.D)

Breakfast at Hotel. After breakfast proceed continue drive to Ruteng. On the way to Ruteng, will stop in Lembor enjoy the panoramic of Spider Rice filed. On arrival in Ruteng, direct check in at Susteran Hotel or similar for dinner and overnight.

Day 04 :

Ruteng – Bajawa (B.L.D)

Early morning take a fresh walking up to Golocuru hill top to winness the golden sun rice and enjoy the panoramic view of Ranaka volcano. Breakfast at the hotel and drive continue to Bajawa, stop in Mano village see the terraces rice field and stop in Ranamese lake to made pictures. Than drive continue stop in Aimere to see the arak, distillation and fresh palm juice topping in Aimere. Lunch will be served and local restaurant at Aimere. Drive up to Bajawa direct to Bena traditional house. Dinner and overnight at Edelweis Hotel or similar.

Day 05 :

Bajawa – Riung (B.L.D)

After breakfast at hotel, continue the trip to Riung, stop at Soa to enjoy the hot spring water, after that drive to Riung stop at local restaurant for lunch, direct check in at Pondok SVD, after check in sail to seventeen Island (tujuh belas pulau), Enjoy the snorkelling on white sandy beach of Rutong Island, take short walks circling the island. Picnic lunch at Rutong Beach, sail to Kalong Island see myriads of bats colony hanging on the mangroves trees. After ward return to Riung, back to Pondok SVD for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 06 :

Riung – Moni (B.L.D)

After breakfast at hotel, continue the trip to Moni with stop in Nanga Penda Ende, to see the Blue Stone. Lunch at local restaurant. On arrival, direct check in at Christine Lodge or similar for dinner and overnight.

Day 07 :

Moni – Kelimutu – Maumere (B.L.D)

This trip will start at 04.30 am, drive up to the amazing view of tree coloured lakes of Kelimutu and enjoy the sunrise. Get back to the hotel for breakfast, then continue the trip to Maumere. Lunch will get served at local restaurant. On the to Maumere will visit Jopu Traditional House and Sikka weaving village. Arrive in Maumere, direct check in at Sylvia Hotel or similar for overnight and dinner at local restaurant.

Day 08 :

Maumere – Larantuka – Lewoleba (Lembata Island) – Lamalera (B,L,D)

Early wake up and breakfast. Transfer to Larantuka harbor and cruise to Lewoleba by Public Boat (wooden boat). It will be takes 4 hours cruise. Upon arrive at Lewoleba harbor, our guide will meet and greet the clients and direct to local rest for Lunch at Berkhat Lomblen Rest (Seafood). Then continue drive to Lamalera Whale hunting village. Check in process at home stay, dinner and overnight.

Day 09 :

Lamalera – Full Day Explore Whale Hunting (B,L,D)

After having early breakfast, just walk down to the beach and joint with local fisherman for go to hunt the whale. At 5:30 am you have to stand by at sea shore. Short introduccing about hunting process and wearing life jacket. It will start from 06:00 am – 16:00 pm. Lunch will serve on the boat. If you lucky, you will see the whale on the water surfaces and a man (harpooners) will stand in front of the boat, and he jumping for thrust the whale. Local people not allow any tourist to take photo or video shooting as there is an additional price (pay on the spot). If no whale catch on that day, they will hunting sharks, manta, dolphins or others kind of fish, you free to take photo or video shooting. Back to home stay for overnight and dinner.

Day 10 :

Lamalera – Full Day Explore Whale Hunting (B,L,D)

Day 12 :

Lamalera – Lolong Village – Mingar White Sand Beach Tour – Lewoleba (B,L,D)

After breakfast. Prepare for drive to Lolong Village passing some Viillage. You can see some happenings on the way. On driving from Lamalera to Lolong passing by ocean view, traditional Village and see some happening during on the way. Upon arrive at Lolong Village local people will welcoming with Ceremony and traditional dance performance using traditional custom (Sarong). Coffee Break & Village Tour.
Take opportunity to see how the local people cook the traditional food. Someone will explain the process to us. We drank coffee, chatted and sampled the local delicacy: “Jagung Titih” or smashed popcorn. The kernels are first cooked over a fire in a clay pot until they pop, then smashed with a flat rock. It doesn’t sound like much, but it tasted surprisingly good. The villagers, especially the village headman, were so friendly that we were reluctant to leave. Continue drive to Mingar White sand beach for relaxing (swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling etc). Late of afternoon, drive to Lewoleba city for overnight. Prepare for BBQ Dinner on the beach side

Day 12 :

Lewoleba – Larantuka – Maumere (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to harbor and cruise back to Larantuka. Continue drive to Maumere and check in at Silvia hotel

Day 13 :

Maumere – Bali (B)

Afterbreakfast. Prepare for check out and transfer to the airport for fly back to Bali.
Driver and guide waiting you at the arrival gate and transfer to your hotel for overnight

What clients should bring:

  • Soap, Tooth paste, Towel, Shampoo
  • Walking shoes
  • Good hat
  • Sun cream
  • Flash light
  • Jacket or sweater
  • This is really a picturesque destination, please bring a lot of film.

During hunt the whale in Lamalera, local people not allowed tourist to taking picture or Shooting;
There is additional price (they can pay on the spot). Free shoot for others fish (manta, shark etc)
