Day 1 : Airport/Hotel – Sendang Gile – Senggigi (L,D)
Depart from airport or hotel in Senggigi area and travel along the northern coast line of the island to visit Pusuk Pass, home to a colony of wild monkeys and offers dramatic panorama as a backdrop of Gili Air peninsula. Afterwards observe a traditional Sasak village with its unique houses in Akar-Akar. A distinctive feature is the ’Lumbung’, a bonnet-shapped rice barn, which is the walls made of bamboo or palm-leaf ribs. Then towards to Bayan village, site of 17th century mosque, the oldest in the area. The mosque is quite simple in architecture where the indigeneous people practised ’Waktu Telu’ (three times) tradition of praying, the aspect combination of Islam and Animist beliefs. The tour culminates at the spectacular Sendang Gile waterfall set in tranquil and tropical lush rain forest. The waterfall is an easy 30 minutes walk down a graded trails and steps from Senaru village. After lunch en route, proceed driving through the famous Malimbu hill to the white sandy beaches of Senggigi. Check in and overnight at Senggigi. Dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 2 : Senggigi – Gili Nanggu – Senggigi (B,L,D)
After breakfast drive on unspoiled countryside to the peaceful village of Sesela. Start the interesting morning walk through farm areas and the beautiful nature. Continue to join an exotic journey using the local ’Gondola’ of bamboo raft along the river of Meninting, where the villagers rely their life : mostly the sandman. Feel the atmosphere where the people moves together with the nature. Kids are swimming, women are washing and bathing, while the birds, insects and trees performing natural orchestra. The highlight of this trip is the desserted island of Gili Nanggu with its beautiful palm-fringed white sandy beaches and clear turquoise water. Spend rest of the day for sun bathing, swimming, snorkeling or just relaxing on this pristine island. A delicious barbeque lunch is awaiting at the exclusive restaurant. In late afternoon returning to hotel. Dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 3 : Senggigi – Narmada – Airport/Hotel (B,L)
After breakfast start the program with visiting small villages specializing in certain crafts. Beginning with a journey to Banyumulek village reputed for its finest handmade pottery crafts with rich terracota colours. Following a brief stop to Stagen village for observing the process of making traditional handweaving cloths. Experience the amazing technique of brightly patterned songket, ikat and sarong. The tour ends in Narmada, which was originally used to be the summer palace of the former Balinese kingdom dating back 17th century. Lotus ponds and terrace gardens recall royal splendour of the past. Break for a gourmet traditional lunch before transfer to the next destination.
